Corporate Identity PDF Print E-mail
Corporate Identity is the "persona" of a corporation which is designed to accord with and facilitate the attainment of business objectives.

It is usually visibly manifested by way of branding and the use of trademarks.

Corporate Identity amounts to a corporate title, logo and supporting devices commonly assembled within a set of guidelines. These guidelines govern how the identity is applied and confirm approved colour palettes, typefaces, page layouts and other such methods of maintaining visual continuity and brand recognition across all physical manifestations of the brand.

Corporate identity is often viewed as being composed of three parts:
  1. Corporate design (logos, uniforms, etc.)
  2. Corporate communication (advertising, public relations, information, etc.)
  3. Corporate behavior (internal values, norms, etc.)
Logo
A logo is a graphical element (ideogram, symbol, emblem, icon, sign) that, together with its logotype (a uniquely set and arranged typeface) form a trademark or commercial brand.

When developing your corporate brand/identity, simplicity speaks more. Below are a few pointers that you can take into consideration:
  1. Choose simplicity without clutter.
  2. Decide on one or two colours that go well together.
  3. Insist on a clean, well-balanced graphic design.
  4. Use one font and stick with it.
  5. The logo needs to work in colour as well as black and white.
  6. And very important, incorporate your brand guide across everything you do (website, brochures, adverts, signage).
